Join us for a mindful look at the life and work of Seamus Heaney. During this tour we will consider uplifting lines in poems like ‘Postscript’ while also exploring the sense of uncertainty Heaney felt throughout his career. Seamus Heaney achieved great success as a poet, playwright and translator. This exhibition explores his work through the archive he and his family donated to the National Library of Ireland in 2011.
Seamus Heaney achieved great success as a poet, playwright and translator, transforming the ordinary world into extraordinary words. In 1995, Heaney received the Nobel Prize for Literature which was awarded to him for works of ‘lyrical beauty and ethical depth’.
This exhibition, located in the Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre on Westmoreland Street explores his life and work through the archive he and his family donated to the National Library of Ireland in 2011.
