Cistin
A celebration of music, poetry, and hope in partnership with St Patrick's Mental Health Services.
Join First Fortnight and St Patrick’s Mental Health Services in our (online) Cistin (the Irish word for kitchen) for poems, songs, and conversation to warm our hearts and our souls on this wintery night. We welcome artists Nathan Mac, Chandrika Narayanan-Mohen, Áine O’Neill, and Emmeline Gracie to Workmans Club Dublin.
Grab a cuppa, a blanket, a friend, and join us online this January.
Nathan Mac
Nathan Mac ran away from the Circus to create sentimental Cinematic-Pop… but the world of acrobatics & trapeze artists has its ways of pulling you back in. Now Nathan is bringing his Circus skills to the stage & screen with a dramatic musical energy!
In 2022, Nathan launched his debut album project: Start of Something Blue. Blending his reality & digital fantasy, he’s been inspired by his love for Kingdom Hearts & Studio Ghibli. Both his spoken-word storytelling & his intimate songwriting pair with dramatic & complex music production that stands alongside the likes of Jon Bellion, Imogen Heap, & Owl City.
Nathan’s history of circus performance runs through his veins & as a companion production, he has written, produced, & starred in his very own circus-musical film: ‘Learning Curve’. This unique love story is all about the beauty in our breaks & how we choose to heal… all wrapped up in a soppy, happy ending. Inspired by his own experience with injury, Nathan takes on the role of a trapeze artist recovering from a performance injury.

Áine O’Neill
Áine is a poet & author from Clontarf, Dublin who finds great solace and enjoyment in writing, which she views as medicine for the soul. Today Aine shares with us two original poems of hope, including The Glimmer, which she released on World Mental Health Day 2022.
Emmeline Gracie
Brought up in a small town in West Germany, Dublin based singer-songwriter Emmeline Gracie creates music of a delicate balance between Indie-Folk and Pop. Her musical debut in 2021 was well received, allowing her to rocket nearly half a million streams in these early stages of her career. The 21 year old’s writing typically draws inspiration from the natural world; landscapes sparked by her Dominican-Italian roots. Emmeline Gracie’s new music in the making touches on subjects of human intimacy – love and loss, and often brings contemporary Indie and Folk artists like Birdy, Daughter, Lana Del Rey or Florence + The Machine to mind.
