First Fortnight in partnership with Instituto Cervantes present Flamenco and Inclusion. 

You are invited to attend Flamenco & Inclusion workshop Monday 7th January 2019 from 6.00-9.00pm. The workshop is taking place at Instituto Cervantes, Lincoln House, 6-16 Lincoln Place, Dublin 2. This flamenco workshop aims to promote diversity, accessibility, social inclusion, equality and resilience for people with all kinds of abilities. All levels of age and abilities are welcome. Complete beginners and all members of the community welcome too. 

The workshop will be facilitated by flamenco dancer Matilde Melanotte and will take place in the auditorium, on the ground floor of the Instituto Cervantes. Building wheelchair accessible. 

Workshop is FREE but registration essential. For more information and to reserve a place, please email intern@firstfortnight.ie

ABOUT FLAMENCO & INCLUSION

Flamenco & Inclusion's mission is to make flamenco accessible to people with physical, developmental and cognitive disabilities

The workshop will provide a safe environment for participants to share their personal experiences. The group will learn to turn personal challenges into resources through creativity and artistic expression. Participants will also develop a wide range of skills such as voice, movement coordination, awareness and empathy, all the while enjoying Spanish traditional steps and rhythms.

El laboratorio de flamenco inclusivo propone una nueva didáctica que fomenta la participación, la diversión y la armonía entre los participantes, haciendo frente de esta forma a las dificultades que surgen durante la clase.

Los límites toman diferentes formas, algunos son más visibles, otros menos, pero nos unen con el otro porque son algo común a todos y que nos hacen más humanos. Más información sobre el ciclo de flamenco inclusivo aquí.
