Food for Thought

Food is often eaten on the go instead of together at a table, but does this mean we miss out on more than a few nutrients?

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A FF2019 EVENT, FOR FF2020 FESTIVAL EVENTS CLICK HERE.

This event is in association with Mendicity Institution, Cooking For Freedom, and Foodcloud.

Food is often eaten on the go instead of together at a table, but does this mean we miss out on more than a few nutrients?

At this event, we will share a table side discussion while sampling tasty food prepared by Cooking For Freedom and explore some of the negative effects of losing this table time has had as well as themes of isolation, support, integration and identity.

Our primary speaker for the evening is Mavis Ubuntu from Cooking For Freedom, an initiative allowing women from a direct provision centre to cook for their families.

Delighted to announce the addition of Our Table who will be providing the delicious food.

OurTable is a community-driven, non-profit project aiming to highlight the need to end direct provision in Ireland. Their goal is to facilitate change through conversation over food.
