First Fortnight in partnership with Alliance Française and the Embassy of France in Ireland present Les Invisibles.
Released in 2019, writer-director Louis-Julien Petit‘s second feature ‘Invisibles‘ is set in a women’s homeless shelter.
After a municipal decision, a shelter for homeless women, ‘L’Envol’, is about to close. With only three months to reintegrate the women they care for, the social workers do everything they can: pulling-strings, bending the truth, and even outright lies… From now on, everything goes!
Les Invisibles will be proceeded by a short film, Home. In the first Bealtaine Commission of its kind, Home was a collaborative project by poet Enda Wyley & visual artist Anita Groener working with Dun Laoghaire Active Retirement Group.
The post show discussion will explore the themes that emerged in the film and three innovative approaches being taken in Ireland to tackle some of the problems raised. The panel will be chaired by First Fortnight Ambassador Mélissa Coyne with Eithne Swaine, Austin Campbell and Louisa Santoro.
