Join us at the First Fortnight Big Gig 2019 for a big night of music and dancing. As always, The Big Gig brings together a very special lineup of artists that features Mango X Mathman, Paddy Hanna, Molly Sterling and Brave Giant.
Having released their debut EP just one year ago, Dublin based Mango X MathMan quickly became leading figures in the new wave of exciting Irish urban music. ‘Badman’ has become the quintessential grime anthem for Ireland. Their steadfast approach to innovating and melding established genres such as Grime, UK garage, Rave and Hip Hop has given them a unique sound that blends rave culture and Dublin life. 2018 has seen the duo perform at a myriad of prestigious events and festivals including Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit and Longitude.
A cult figure in the Dublin music scene, Paddy Hanna’s latest album Frankly I Mutate is one of the best Irish albums released this year, bursting full of his morose charm and sardonic wit. Irish Times Electric Picnic Review praised him for his “indie-rock showmanship”, don’t miss out on this chance to see him live.
Wordsmith and songwriter Molly Sterling’s music is moulded by dark and affecting lyrics, wrapped up in grounding piano riffs and stirring vocals. Molly has become a festival staple, including Forbidden Fruit and Castlepalooza, quoted as "one of the most poignant songwriters in the country" (Nialler9).
We look forward to welcoming Longford four-piece Brave Giant to the Big Gig line up. Brave Giant are an indie/folk band that has been steadily making a mark on the music scene over the last two years, with their skilful blend of rock, folk and alternative sounds.
