Threads. Exploring isolation and integration

Polish visual artist Andrzej Mazur works collaboratively with 12 people experiencing homelessness helping them to describe their own personal journeys and map them across Europe with multiple strands of thread, intersecting and reaching Ireland.

This exhibition is in partnership with the Mendicity Institution.

Polish visual artist Andrzej Mazur works collaboratively with 12 people experiencing homelessness helping them to describe their own personal journeys and map them across Europe with multiple strands of thread, intersecting and reaching Ireland.

Members of the public can contribute their own thread to a central art piece to stand alongside 12 individual works. THREADS aims to promote mental health through therapeutic art and craft sessions by mapping and contrasting the life journeys of socially excluded migrant homeless.

The Mendicity Institution is the oldest working charity in Dublin. Established in 1818, it has been in operation for 200 years creating opportunities for people experiencing homelessness, isolation and marginalization.

The exhibition will be open 1pm-5pm Sat 5, Sun 6, Sat 12 & Sun 13.

The exhibition is free but The Mendicity Institution gratefully accepts donations.
