Wellness Trail – The Wellness trail idea was formed through consultation with a Local Mental Wellness development group consisting of Service Users in partnership with HSE Mental Health & CAWT Innovation Recovery College. The idea is that we would incorporate a range of wellness tips & activities for participants to promote inclusivity & engagement by providing choice.
The Trail will launch at a local café (Sonder) with hot chocolate (in prep for the bad weather!!) and poetry reading from people with lived experience of using mental health services. The participants will then proceed to Create–a-link to view some of the art on show from some the projects participants. Create-a-link has been a hub of creativity for people with mental health challenges in Letterkenny and through nurturing and encouraging their creative talents the project has helped to produce wonderful pieces of art over the years.
Letterkenny Youth & Family services will lead the walk alongside Pramerica volunteers, DLDC, Donegal Volunteer CEntre and Letterkenny CDP Drug Rehabilitation Programme.
The Trail will then finish up at the Wellness Cafe in The Eatery An Grianan Theatre Letterkenny where there will be pop up information stands, refreshments & entertainment and participants can view the Creative Art Exhibition on show from the Park View House Creative Group. CAWT (Cooperation and Working Together) Recovery College will partner this trail promoting the walk to wellness programme.
Additional Info – The Trail will begin at 10.30am in Sonder Café Port Rd Letterkenny continuing onto Create – a – link Pearse Rd walking onto An Grianan Theatre Letterkenny Port Rd and finish at 1pm.
High Visibility vests will be provided for walkers, places are limited and registration is necessary.
The walk is for all ages but children should be accompanied by an adult.
