Words from the Wise Ones

The event will focus on the power of words and take the format of a workshop. The workshop will open with a small discussion on mental health and give some perspectives from the facilitators. A range of writing prompts, including reflection, insight, discussion and imagery will be used in the workshop to spark ideas and creativity seeking to draw out attendees’ creative sides and explore how writing can captivate and transform our imaginations as well as help to be supportive in managing our mental health.

The event will focus on the power of words and take the format of a workshop. The workshop will open with a small discussion on mental health and give some perspectives from the facilitators. A range of writing prompts, including reflection, insight, discussion and imagery will be used in the workshop to spark ideas and creativity seeking to draw out attendees’ creative sides and explore how writing can captivate and transform our imaginations as well as help to be supportive in managing our mental health. Writing can be a powerful tool alongside the more traditional support services, reflective writing has been shown to help you process your thoughts and help improve problem solving. All of which contributes to maintaining good mental health. Everyone who takes the workshop will get their own notebook to start them on their writing journey. The workshop will last approximately two hours.

Additional info – This is a free 2hour interactive workshop.  Notebooks, pens and refreshments will be provided.

Recommended age: Suitable for 16+ with parental permission required for under 18s
