We are back with some more distractions, diversions and supports! Hay Festival Digital From 22–31 May, Hay Festival Digital takes place online with interactive events from more than 100 award-winning writers, global policy makers, historians, pioneers and innovators, celebrating the best new fiction and non-fiction, and interrogating some of the biggest issues of our time.   Some wholesome moments gathered Buzzfeed challenge you not to crack a grin while looking at this list of wholesome quarantine moments this week. Spoiler: I failed!   Postcard Project One man’s recovery from cancer has prompted him to start a Postcard Project during the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s a lovely read!   Lockdown Productivity: Spaceship You “Return better than you left.” This beautiful video compares the current situation to being in a spaceship and looking after your spaceship ie You and its core ie Your mental and physical health.   People Are Awesome People Are Awesome is a youtube channel and they’ve created a video compilation of some inspired ways people are avoiding boredom at home.   Nora On Food Now that hardware stores have reopened, people can work on creating their dream garden. Here’s a useful video from one of the youngest experts out there to help you create a veggie patch   Hawk’s Well Theatre Another great initiative, this time from Sligo and the Hawk’s Well Theatre: Come Together – The Isolation Collective: Sligo’s theatre and music artists respond: 10 theatre artists – 10 composers – 10 new pieces of work.   Attention Independent Dance and Theatre Artists  An online gathering together of independent dance and theatre artists is being organised by artists for 25th May from 6-8pm, details to register are available here   Grounding Techniques In addition to continuing to operate their 24 helpline, Dublin Rape Crisis Centre have compiled some grounding techniques for when you feel anxious or stressed. Samaritans Self Help App The newly launched Samaritans self-help web app lets you keep track of how you’re feeling, and get recommendations for things you can do to help yourself cope, feel better and stay safe in a crisis. Visual Artists Ireland Their Visual Artists’ Café next week on 26th May will put Co. Wexford in the spotlight where you can hear from Catherine Bowe from Wexford Arts Centre and see work from 6 artists based in Co. Wexford for VAI’s second online Show & Tell.     Culture Club Online Dublin City Council Culture Company are inviting you to see and experience cultural events, talks and performances virtually, from the comfort of home. There are 20 events to choose from for Culture Club Online throughout the month of May, spanning art, literature, theatre and history, and even engaging with some Dublin museums and galleries, albeit in a new way.
