We are back with more alternatives to cabin fever!

Big Picture Competition Week 8 in the Big Brother House and a lot of us have forgotten what the outside world looks like beyond our 5km. As a wee reminder, here’s some incredible photographs of wildlife on the Big Piture Competition website submitted from across the world to enjoy. Axis Ballymun Axis Ballymun are creating some fun entertainment options for families with a new online Children’s Channel adorably titled “Zoom Boom.” Let’s Play Ireland Not quite as catchy as Axis’, but the Government have also created a list of handy resources to promote play for all children living in Ireland right now. Lime Tree Theatre Lime Tree Theatre has compiled the most helpful list of online theatre options for shows to enjoy at home- heroes! “In Solitude, we turn to solidarity” EPIC the Irish Emigration Museum want your help in writing the next chaper of Irish history together. As a storytelling musuem, they want to build a collection of stories that show how the Irish diaspora, and their descendents, are helping their communities during the global pandemic. Other Voices Live Other Voices are pairing some incredibly talented artists with some incredible venues like Whelans and National Gallery of Ireland and live streaming performances for a Courage series. Denise Chaila will be up next tomorrow night, but here are previous performances to enjoy to tide you over til then! Matt Damon Pretty sure Matt Damon has now been officially adopted by the Irish people and the Dalkey locals are protecting him from outsiders. Here’s a lovely radio interview he did with Spin 1038, including Bono reminding him about doing the radio interview and clarifying what was in that Supervalu bag. Ireland Performs Ireland Performs is a series of livestream performances with Culture Ireland and there’ll be more treats after the 14th May too! More info here. Mental Health Ireland Mental Health Ireland have created a series of suports including a Guide to Good Sleep, a Routine Template to help you plan your day and a Connect, Communicate & Reassure Resource Pack that was co-produced by people with lived experience of mental health challenges, supporters, family members, the Office of Mental Helath Engagement & Recovery and Mental Health Ireland. Mental Health Foundation UK Given that this pandemic is affecting us worldwide, it means that we can learn from every other country and that we have a wider range of resources and experts to benefit from. Here’s a great range of tips from Mental Health Foundation in the UK including Random Acts of Kindness, Nurturing Relationships and Parenting during Covid. Collectively Counting Collectively Counting is a response to COVID19 written and performed by Stephen James Smith, with film by Craig Kenny and featuring music from Gareth Quinn Redmond and Conor O’Brien.
