Declan’s Got Talent, Dublin
In partnership with Cork County Council and Waterford County Council
Experience a powerful theatrical journey with Peter Gowen’s latest play, a contemporary exploration of an older Irish man’s inner struggles, shaped by his upbringing in the 1950s and 60s. Following his acclaimed role as Father Jack in Dancing at Lughnasa at The Gate Theatre, Gowen presents a piece that skilfully blends tragedy with a sharp streak of humour.
The narrative follows Declan’s complex journey through childhood, burgeoning sexuality, and his aspirations to take Holy Orders. This production marks Gowen’s third play and is supported by Cork and Waterford Councils, offering a poignant reflection on identity and the complexities of the human experience.
Join us on Thursday 9th January for a post show discussion following the 7pm show.
The matinée show will be ISL Interpreted.
You can also find Declan’s Got Talent in Donegal, Mayo, and Offaly.
