Calling all children and the wonderful adults who care for them. First Fortnight are delighted to be hosting an even bigger number of children and family events than ever across Ireland this January.   There will be a fun filled day of events at The Riverbank Arts Centre, Kildare on Saturday 19th starting with well-being and resilience workshops (7-9 yrs @10am & 10-12 yrs @12pm) followed by the much loved Finding Dory film @2pm which teaches us many important life lessons.  The inaugural First Fortnight IFI (Irish Film Institute) Family Event “Feeling Fine” will be on Sunday 20th starting at 11am (8 yrs +). A special programme of stories of positive mental health will be shown through animation and live action shorts.  It looks to be an exciting and fun trip for all the family. Children (4-10 yrs) can learn fun and creative ways to calm, relax and deal with worries and ways to feel good about themselves in Westmeath, Kildare, Westmeath, Cavan, Dublin and Kilkenny.  Check out the website www.firstfortnight.ie for details of dates and times.   7-11 year olds will have the opportunity to explore their feelings and build resilience through storytelling, arts and crafts on 12th January @11am in the Alliance Francaise. And not forgetting new (possibly sleep deprived) parents, we have two really special sensory workshops for you and your babies on 21st January at 12 noon & 2pm to help you and your baby relax, socialise and enjoy the colours, textures and artwork in the National Gallery of Ireland. We strongly advise you to book in advance as events such as “The King Who Finds Feelings Confusing” and “The Circus is Coming” workshop in The Ark, Dublin are both sold already!
